Hueytown

2:37 PM: "High school football in Alabama has become such a business," said Hueytown offensive coordinator Jeff Harris on possible becoming a head coach again. "I enjoy the closeness with the kids and being able to get out there and just coach football."

2:34 PM: "We found ourselves out of position a lot of times last year," said McClinton of close losses. "I think a lot of times it was mental and also we didn't quite finish."

Jamal Woods added, "Team chemistry and working harder. That's what's been that much different this summer."

2:30 PM: Bessemer City and Pleasant Grove are rivalries for Hueytown.

"It'd be advantageous to my mental health to beat them," Nick McClinton said jokingly. "Seriously, though, I grew up in some boys and girls clubs with those guys and I think it'd be fun to beat them."

2:29 PM: Defensive coordinator Roger Haynes is a newcomer to Hueytown.

"I would love for my team to make the playoffs," said McClinton. "We made it when I was a freshman, and my team traveled to Vestavia to watch my team lose."

2:27 PM: "It's hard to run an offense when there's no protection," said McClinton. "Everything in football starts up front."

2:26 PM: Hueytown offensive coordinator Jeff Harris takes the podium at media days along with center Nick McClinton and defensive lineman Jamal Woods.
