Players of the Week

Each week during the football season, at the HHS Quarterback Club meetings, four players are named as "Players of the Week" for the previous game. After each varsity game, the coaches select four individuals for these prestigious awards based on their excellent performance, leadership and overall improvement.

Hueytown Golden Gophers lost to Clay-Chalkville Tigers in the AHSAA Super 7 Championship 6A Final at Protective Stadium on December 3, 2021. Final score was 46 - 42.

QB EARL WOODS NAMED 6A PLAYER OF THE WEEK FOR WEEK #4 & WEEK #5

Congrats to Earl Woods for being named Alabama 6A Player of the Week for 2 weeks in a row. He completed 16-of-19 passing for 324 yards & 4 TD's, 115 yards on 18 carries & TD vs Athens. He completed 10-of-25 passing for 172 yards & 3 TD's, 224 yards on 35 carries vs Hillcrest-Tusc.
